The film takes place in city of Nis, Serbia, towards the end of the 19th century, during the calm of the stormy historical events that led to the final liberation of the southern Serbian regions from the Ottoman occupation. The host, Ivko, traditionally celebrates his patron Saint Feast day, but his guests are tempting Serbian hospitality during the three-day celebration.
