Movie IVKO’S FEAST (2005), Director Zdravko Šotra

Ivko is a respected craftsman from Niš. In a few days he will be celebrating his Saint’s Day, a holiday he rejoices in every year - St. George's Day. That morning, the door of his house opens wide to all, the invited and the uninvited. Throughout the day, he welcomes, serves in abundance, and sees off dozens of distinguished guests. In the evening, when he and his Paraskeva finally sit to rest, his inseparable friends arrive - Kalča, a famous hunter, whose hunting fantasies no one believes; Kurjak, named after his enormous appetite, and Smuk, who can drink endlessly and stay on his feet. There is also a guy that no one knows anything about. His name is Svetislav, a traveling actor, who came uninvited, following the beautiful Mariola, who assists the hostess.
The action takes place in Niš, at the end of the 19th century, at the calm times of the turbulent historical events that led to the final liberation of the southern Serbian regions from the Turkish occupation. The comedy paints a picture of how the guests test the Serbian hospitality during the celebration of a traditional feast organized by Ivko.
